![]() About the Hotel |
Situated in the forest between Pforzheim, the 'Gold Town' north of the Black Forest, and the high-altitude village of Büchenbronn this small recreation paradise of 2.5 hectares (about 6.25 acres) including 40 ares (1 acre) of water resort, has developed in the past 50 years. It was inbetween the two World Wars, a time of economic crisis and unemployment, that Eugen Herrmann of Büchenbronn together with his brothers and some friends started to turn the marsh areas near the Pfatschbach wells into a small fish pond and a bathing lake. Later on, rowing boat rental was started.
By 1970, Eugen Herrmann's daughter Margarete and her husband Willi Bischoff founded the restaurant and guesthouse 'Zum Herrmannsee'. The stately hotel building, built in 1988, fits naturally into the local environment and offers guests an oasis of relaxation in a totally quiet surrounding.
Today their son Lothar, who gained experience in reputed restaurants, is the Main Chef. The cuisine offers an à la carte menu and set meals for all occasions, as well as tailored menus for special events. Our wine list comprises mainly of delicious Baden wines made of "sun-kissed grapes". Our cakes and gateaux are home-baked.
